Not as good value for money as it once was,
This review is from: Three Mobile Broadband Ready to Go†3GB Preloaded Data Standard†SIM for†3G Tablets (Wireless Phone Accessory)
There's a flood of favourable reviews on the front page which reflect this product at a time when the card was much cheaper.
Since January when I first purchased this sim card, it has seen tiny yet steady increases in cost every month. Now [October 2013] it is approximately 50% more expensive and has reached the point where I am now looking elsewhere for data.
It was once good value for money but unfortunately not any more.

18 months ago they were £6.50 including postage.
Not a bad mark-up on something that costs the supplier nothing as they are more often than not, taken out of 'Bundle' Packs.
I won't buy them now out of principle!
I think that it is about time that Amazon had a box on the reviews where you enter the price paid at the time of the review.

I totally agree. I've paid around £11 or 12 for the cards I've bought on here.
If you buy them from a 3 Store they are £20.49 for 3GB and £10.49 for 1GB so with postage you are actually paying more and the 1GB cards on here are listed as RRP £19.99 which is incorrect.

Absolutely agree with all the posts here - I purchased these in 2011 for nearly half the price - I will definitely be looking elsewhere...........shame as it's a very good product

Yes, a price increase of 25% in just two months is absurd. Also, topping up is dearer than getting a new sim.

I agree about the price increases - last year (Oct 2012) thye were £10 but now often at about £20 mark. I do always keep one lurking in my basket and then get informed if there is a price drop - got one yesterday for £14 (Nov 2013) and the price is back up today!

I couldn't agree more with the last review from Bat-I bought 4 x 3GB of these preloaded sim cards back in July costing just £46 in total! So in seems in just a few months now for the exact same purchase will cost £80! Now, Three are selling thousands of these, so the price hasn't gone up by that margin in such a small time scale, so come on Amazon, as soon as people start buying these in numbers you hike the price up! I see Argos is now selling them 1GB for £10 mind you..but hey no ordering online and waiting for the post-cash and receive over the counter!

These have become so expensive now I've started using Samba mobile sims which give you free data on the Three Network and dont expire. Only cost £2.50 to buy a sim if you can get a friend to recomend you (or nothing if you recomend your 'spouse' once you've got the first one!)
You just need to build up some credit by pre-watching adverts using your sim or home network but it's completely seperate from when browsing so they dont get in the way. I've clocked up 2GB over a few weeks.
They often have double data weekends or ads and there are often deals with them prebundled with data on Martin Lewis MSE.
