Did they test these recipes?,

This review is from: Hamlyn New All Colour Cookbook ( Hamlyn All Colour Cook Book ) (Hardcover)
I am awarding 1 star for the clear layout of the book with illustrations of every recipe, and 1 for the range of recipes.
Unfortunately, the book loses marks for typing errors, and the fact that if the recipes had been properly tested it would have been clear they would not work. I have never before come accross a lemon meringue pie recipe that uses 3 whole eggs in the filling, rather than just the yolks.
I am also deducting a star for the lack of consideration of healthy eating. Although it does not advertise itself as a low fat cookbook, the use of butter, sugar and cream seems excessive. Using the same example of lemon meringue pie, I was shocked to see 250g of butter, and that is just in the filling, not the pastry!
All in all, it is a nice looking book, with some good recipes, but the results have been disappointing.
