A better writer than singer,
This review is from: The Original Wanderer: The Songs And Sounds Of Ernie Maresca (Audio CD)
The name of Ernie Maresca had appeared on singles from 1961 as a writer but in 1962 he became a recording artist in his own right scoring one chart hit with Shout Shout.Really Maresca was no more than a demo maker for such as Dion or the Regents
With its Gary U S Bonds influence it was a typical example of 1962 U S pop music with doowop stylings
The strong use of vocal groups is almost incestuous and carried on the tradition of white doowop further than most critics imagine
By 1965 his hit streak had more or less run out with the later Dion singles though Maresca songs would carry on into the 70s with no effect from the British Invasion
Ace have also issued the sole Maresca album which came out after the hit single.
The detailed sleeve notes make this a worthwhile purchase

Mr. W. J. Wright says:
I have to laugh at that cd picture cover for it looks like he's "thumbing" for a ride in a car.
