Good enough for Man United fans to read,
This review is from: Pocket Book of Spurs, The (Hardcover)
This is a joyous little book that really brings out the spirit of the football club that is Tottenham Hotspur.
The previous review by a self-confessed Man United fan (probably from Bournemouth), was gratious to give us 4 stars, then just had to have a go. I would like to remind all fans of the club that played at Maine Road when I first started watching football that Spurs have, to date, won no less than THREE European Trophies, including the 1st ever by any British club in 1963, and only ONE LESS than Man United, in about a tenth of their "attempts". End of rant.
This is an easy little book to just dip into, rather than read at one sitting. It has good perspective on Spurs "Greats" and doesn't just concentrate on the Double Team as too many Tottenham histories do (even this season's programme has become obsessed with the Double Team). There are some excellent tactical sketches, even some of our dodgy sides with defences starring the likes of David Kerslake and Stuart Nethercott feature. Plus some excellent comic strips, the parrot story is worth the price of the book alone.
This book makes an excellent present for any enthusiast of football as it should be played; no matter which club they follow.
