I have to admit, i'm a bit disappointed.
All of the tracks on The Fame and The Fame Monster all sound different, however i listened to Born This Way in full on the train to work this morning and it struck me that most, if not all of the tracks feature the same kind of sound. A pumping, thumping base with lots of techno backing sounds. Where are the R&B influences (Starstruck)or the disco sounds (Disco Heaven) of The Fame???
Don't get me wrong, they're great tracks and i'm utterly sure they'll really grow on me and i'll see their individuality shine through, but on first impressions i'm sad to say, most the the tracks blended into each other.
Definitely worth buying if you're a fan. But if you're expecting an eclectic mix of sounds, Born this way doesn't deliver.

Totally Agree with this comment! The Album Im sure will grow on me also but the fame and the fame monster were great first time round and each song did sound different and it was a unique sound....Some of this album I just get the feeling its a bit Madonna like and also some songs sound the same also some of the tracks of long intros ....But there are some stand out tracks like HAIR is a good song. Think she need to focus more on her songs then her fashion!! But if you a fan you will enjoy but not as much as the Fame Monster :)

Can't say I'm all that impressed either. As you rightly say, too much crash, bang wallop that just blends into each other. Listened to the album a few times, but don't think it will grow on me. You find yourself hankering to put back on the first album instead. An album that had some catchy songs and a more a variation of mix. Maybe her most die-hard fans can forgive this blip, but next time she really needs to get back in touch with her artistic roots and write some good memorable and catchy songs again, or else the big bubble will burst and she'll just pass into tutting ethos where people say I used to like her when she first came out.
