Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: HTC DESIRE BLACK SILICONE SKIN CASE WITH SCREEN PROTECTOR BY CELLAPOD CASES (Electronics)I bought this for my HTC Desire, because I was worried about carrying an expensive and delicate phone around in my pocket, next to my other stuff...
I wouldn't normally go for a case actually, as I think the manufactorer spends a lot of time developing the looks and feel of their products, and obviously, these things spoil that.
But I was also aware that a phone like this wouldn't necessarily take 24 months of being bashed about in my pocket - even glass screen phones get damaged over the months, and these, due to the touch screen nature, are not as resilient.
So this seemed the most approapriate product - covering the main phone with rubber, and the screen with a light protector. I guess the next step for the extra paranoid is a full pouch/flip case/hard case - but that's a pain - imagine getting the phone out of your pocket when it rings and it's in a full case, with your other hand holding shopping/whatever else, then trying to work it out of a case...so this is the solution.
The rubber case fits well, and all the buttons are enclosed, with raised parts of the moulding for the buttons. In the case, everything is easy to press, and you can still feel the click as you press.
The only real two issues are the optical 'mouse' thing on the front of the desire - it's hard to use with this casing on, as it's raised around the sides of the button, and the mini USB power socket on the phone - the USB doesn't seat well because the case is raised around it - and sometimes falls out.
I like how the casing raises around the camera appature though -I think this'll keep it nice and scratch free.
The screen guard, which is included, is a great addition - mine is a bit scratched after two weeks, so I imagine the screen would have been too.
But they take a bit of attaching - it's not hard to do, or to peel off the backing, but it's a bit like putting wallpaper on your walls - you get any tiny peices of dirt or dust still on the screen, and the plastic protector bubbles unerneath. But it's acceptable, and the touch screen works perfectly with it on, bubbles or not.
Could me my cack-handedness this though - but I cleaned the screen a number of times, and still dust was under the protector.
On balance though, this is all well made stuff, and definately a good middle ground to protect your phone.
