First of 2 great CD sets of Doo Wop classics...,

London American Doo Wop, 40 Original Recordings 1955 to 1958, DAY2CD162
There are 2 sets in this series and they are both great examples of Doo Wop. The name Doo Wop is given to a style of vocal based rhythm and blues music that developed in African American communities from the 1940s and achieved mainstream popularity in the 1950s and early 1960s. Set 1 covering 1955 to 1958 features many groups with slightly differing vocals sounds. By the time you get to the late 1950s the sounds and vocal presentation have become more sophisticated as can be head in this collection. The running time for these 2 CDs is a little over 100 minutes and the sound quality is excellent. The liner notes are from Joseph Adair. Attractively presented this makes an excellent first of two Doo Wop sets from One Day Music. Excellent value too.
