This review is from: Lenovo Z370 13.3 inch Laptop - Black (Intel Core i5 2430M 2.4GHz, RAM 4GB, HDD 750GB, NVIDIA GF410M 1GB, DVDRW, WLAN, Webcam, BT, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit) (Personal Computers)Bought this to replace an aging Sony Viao with the same 13" footprint and also broken Asus netbook. Only had it a week but so far, very pleased with it. Much prefer it to the Sony which was an expensive disappointment. The netbook was good at the time for web-browsing and travel, but this has been supplanted by a more convenient iPad.
The wife has a recent Acer which is a also a good machine for the money (and impressed by Acer's customer service), but I don't like the larger form-factor and the keyboard organisation is dreadful for typists. There aren't many sub-500 pound 13" machines on the market, so here we are. You get a lot of machine for your money here.
Size - perfect laptop for resting on the lap. Some reviews have said it was a bit chunky (compared to an ultrabook maybe), but much better than my Sony
Nice Styling - pink brushed metal palmrest, illuminated, soft-touch buttons for sound control
Great keyboard - a real deal-breaker as I do lots of typing. Enter and shift keys a little small though
Touchpad - nice textured feel. The rocker button is adequate
Great Spec for the price - big hd, boots Windows quickly, relatively little bloatware
Lenovo utilities - useful power management, backup and boot- optimiser
Screen cover looks a little cheap and flimsy
Screen has that high-gloss finish that reflects a lot of light
Casing can get a little warm
UPDATE - 18 months on and, even with light usage, the motherboard appears to be faulty, causing regular blue screens . Bit disappointed as my previous laptops lasted far longer.
