This review is from: Craftine Dreadnought Semi Acoustic Guitar - Black (Electronics)
This guitar is a delight and has reawakened my interest in playing again. I purchased it mainly to play acoustically and it has a most impressive sound. It's warm and exquisitely balanced so that finger picking produces quite surprising volume. I have never played an acoustic which has better sustain. Harmonics ring very clear even on the 9th fret. This leads me to believe that this model (the manufacturing company is Irish) is actually under-priced, and, once established, is likely to be landed with a higher asking price.
The shape allows for full barre chords up to a D on the 10th fret, but really the best and fullest chord sounds stretch from the excellent open chords at the nut to the B major shape on the 7th fret. The neck feels a little rigid (more like an electric guitar) and the body meets the neck on the 14th fret. I would have preferred the 15th but that's the only negative I can point to.
The head stock has an attractive as well as unusual design and there are nice Celtic designs on the inlays. The pick-up (which I've only used a couple of times) does it's job well, with the mid-range pot being the most sensitive. There is a push button phase switch which is the equivalent of the Strat "out of phase" sound which will prove valuable to players who wish to quickly change their tone. Tuning is easily monitored thanks to the LED indicator so the Craftine appears to have all the bases covered.
My model came with a most solid and durable looking case and overall I'm absolutely delighted with the guitar. It suits all styles as the lower strings sound quite rocky when strummed hard but the single strings are equally impressive when picked or played singly as a melody. Highly recommended !
