A story book of Norse myths,

This review is from: The Penguin Book of Norse Myths: Gods of the Vikings (Paperback)
This is a sort of compilation of Norse myths, taken from many sources (though taken primarily from Edda, if I remember correctly). Some of the surviving myths contradict each other but Kevin Crossley-Holland has done his best to make sure that the myths in this book flow, and any contradictions are kept to a minimum. It has helpful notes at the back which explain which source each myth came from and if there are any contradicting myths, and there is also a helpful little guide to who is who. This is not the best book to buy if you are considering studying all the Norse myths in detail, but if you are a beginner to Norse mythology or just want to read something a little bit different (the book reads almost exactly like a book) then this is perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
