Exellent Seventh Doctor, Ace & Counter Measues Adventure,
This review is from: The Assassination Games (Doctor Who) (Audio CD)
1)A magnificent script by the Exellent John Dorney who time after time delivers one good story after another for Big Finish Productions.
2)A great cast featuring the return of the Counter Measures team who appeared in The Seventh Doctor, Ace TV story Remembrance Of The Daleks.
3)Concludes this 1963 Trilogy on a high.
Nothing worth mentioning.
2xCDs of a 4 part adventure, Running time 120 minutes, Trailer, Behind the scenes interviews.
This story is tailor made for the Seventh Doctor & Ace as it's plot involves one of mysterys.
The Doctor & Ace arrive in London in December 1963, Out from the Tardis they become involved with a threat to the nation as Politicians are being assassinated by fanatics due to there political scandals of the times & Britain is trying to mantain & uphold it's international role in these recent disturbing events.
Group Captain Ian Gilmore is trying to get his Counter Measures team up & running when he is attacked by an assailant.
He is saved by a man holdinging a Umbrella, Wearing a ? Pullover & hat, It is the Seventh Doctor with companion Ace.
The Doctor is all to familiar of what's going on as plan's are being set in motion, Sinister plans that the Doctor is only to well aware of, As the Counter Measures team go undercover to discover the mystery of these political assassinations the Doctor tells Ace a new dawn is coming & it's time for everybody to see the light.
This is a exellent faced paced adventure written by the ever reliable John Dorney who always writes cracking engaging storys for the listener & once again he delivers the goods with this story here.
All the cast are on fine form as Sylvester McCoy & Simon William's in there roles of the Doctor & Group Captain Gilmore deliver great performances in the scenes they are in together which add intrigue to the mysterious event's of assassinations of late as the Doctor & Captain Gilmore share a underlining respect for each other that is similar to the Third Doctor & Brigader Lethbridge Stewart had in latter seasons Tv.
The inclusion of Counter Measures adds intrigue to the plot & it will be interestingly to see were Big Finish take this spin off series in the future.
This story concludes the 1963 story which goes out on a high with this release & I'd recommend this 1963 trilogy as each story in the range is unique to that particular Doctor's characteristics.
A exellent audio adventure from a great writer John Dorney & superbly performed by the cast which makes this a highly recommended purchase.

Cracking good review. This is a jolly good story with the Seventh Doctor and Ace and it's nice to hear the Counter-Measures team for the 50th anniversary.
I listened to this at the start of the New Year whilst tidying up DVDs and CDs, and it's a captivating listening.
Great review on this. Well done.
I've updated my review for 'Nightmare in Silver' if you like to read it. Tim.
