I'm now impatiently waiting for book 4. I hope there will be more...
I really enjoyed this trilogy; it was pacy, well-written and full of intriguing notions, with a slice of proper science.
The protagonist is an unlikely hero at first glance - he gets involved against his better judgement (admittedly, a well-worn SF film trope, from Han Solo to Captain Reynolds) and lives to regret it. As we progress, we discover under the grimy cynicism that rarest of things: a man of principle.
The dystopian near-future setting is believable, including a USA in full retreat from reason (a process already under way) and reminded me somewhat of Charlie Stross's oeuvre.
I couldn't put it down - I ploughed through all three books in well under 2 days.
Nicely-judged length, too- not too sparse, not over-padded; a good edit.
This is a new talent I will watch with interest.
