Worse than useless,
This review is from: Lonely Planet South America on a shoestring (Travel Guide) (Paperback)
I stopped using this guidebook half way through my two month trip.. it's badly written, its bulky and heavy and it doesnt inspire.. and to top it all off.. they continually remind you in EVERY city section that you'll probably get robbed, kidnapped or all of the above.. i'd prefer if that ink had have gone into better information. We ended up using the internet and the maps we picked up in the hostels..
The only redeeming factor is the country synopsis at the start of each country section.. but other than that.. I'd leave it back on the book shelf.
It was the first time i'd used a lonely planet, I usually use another guidebook company.. and I certainly wont buy another.
