Undeserving of all the negative reviews,

This review is from: A Wanted Man (Jack Reacher, Book 17) (Kindle Edition)
While I'll be the first to admit that this isn't the greatest Reacher book, it certainly isn't deserving of the 1-star reviews. Sure, Reacher is in a car for about a quarter of the book (not "half" as some seem to think), but it allows Child time to explore tense characterisation, without the need for Reacher to headbutt people. He clearly thought "what if Reacher couldn't fight his way out of danger?" and explores that well. Reacher is getting older and even more thoughtful and the book reflects that.
I'd stepped away from Reacher for a while and I was in two minds whether to come back after I read some of the reviews of this book, but I'm glad I did.
