This review is from: The North: (And Almost Everything In It) (Hardcover)
Since when was "The North" primarily the North-West of England? This book was primarily an autobiographical account of the author's experience of "The North" rather than a broad characterisation of The North, which is what the title suggested that this book would be about. Coupled with the fact that the prose was, in places, rather dense, you would be wise to choose from some of the much better titles on The North such as Stuart Maconie's Pies and Predjudice and Martin Wainwright's North.
