Excellent guidance for bo practitioners,

This review is from: Kobudo-bo-jutsu: Technique, Training, Tactics (Paperback)
books on martial arts are ten-a-penny.
few are worth splashing out any more than £2 for.
this is the exception.
knowing what this book contains, and how it is set out... this book is worth double the selling price.
i agree with another reviewer, in that the cover picture looks quite cheesy. this is a book on the traditional techniques, not freestyle stick (which is way too popular).
the book starts of with warm-ups, then moves onto the basic guards or "ready" positions (which are almost never covered by other authors, but if you don't know how to start, how can you begin a technique ?!?!)
there are many techniques, followed by the same but done from a reverse position. thus showing that a specific strike/block is not determined by the stance.
nothing replaces a decent instructor. it's just a shame there are so few good instructors for any kobudo.
in which case, this book will fill in the gaps left by bad instructors.
