Not an original album,
This review is from: O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing (Audio CD)
This album is not an original recording but instead a compilation of tracks taken from the Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band album Sing Lustily and with good courage. Sing Lustily and With Good Courage and the Melstock band album Under the greenwood tree Under the Greenwood Tree - The Carols and Dances of Hardy's Wessex Under the Greenwood Tree of which were originally recorded in the 1990s by Saydisc records.
The first five tracks are from the Maddy Prior album, then tracks six to sixteen are from the Mellstock band album, and finally the last tracks from seventeen to twenty are from the Maddy Prior album again. So Ten tracks from each album.
All of the recordings are excellent and this makes a good compilation programme. If you are not familiar with the albums I mentioned then this compilation will help to give you a taste of what they are like. If your interest is in Maddy Prior then I recommend you don't bother with this release but get "Sing lustily and with good courage" If you already have it, or the Mellstock album, don't bother buying these tracks again. Otherwise I recommend this album
