The Masters Mastered
101 Things You May Not Have Known About The US Masters by John White may only be an e-book but it is so much more weighty than that. All I can recall from watching the Masters live and seeing previous tournaments on DVD are all written about in this book. Memorable events such as (i) In 1964, Arnold Palmer became the first man to win four green jackets: 1958, 1960, 1962 & 1964. (ii) Jack Nicklaus is the only man to pull on the green jacket after winning the US Masters in three different decades: 1963, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975 & 1986. (iii) The longest period an American has gone without pulling on the winners' green jacket at the US Masters is five years with Scotland's Sandy Lyle the winner in 1988, England's Nick Faldo winner in 1989 & 1990 and Ian Woosnam from Wales the winner in 1991. Larry Mize (USA) was the winner in 1987 with Fred Couples (USA) claiming victory in 1992. (iv) In 2003, Mike Weir set two US Masters records. He was the first Canadian to win a green jacket (he was also the first Canadian golfer to win any of the four Major Championships) and he was also the first left-handed player to win the US Masters. This is an absorbing e-book containing some really fascinating and occasionally unbelievable trivia from the most absorbing of all the golf Majors. Excellent value for the price on Amazon.
