WELL CRAFTED VICTORIAN MYSTERY,
This review is from: The House of the Wicked (a psychological thriller combining mystery, murder, crime and suspense) (Kindle Edition)
This was my first D M Mitchell book, but certainly wont be my last.
A victorian mystery set in a seemingly damned fishing town. This has creepy Dickensian characters, superb prose, and an atmosphere of impending doom. It almost tips over into pastiche with its multiple revelations in the closing chapters, but just pulls it off.
A quality novel from a very promising author.
