Anyone would fair well with someone like Ree in their life,
This review is from: Winter's Bone [DVD] (DVD)The struggle, the fighting, Ree Dolly (Jennifer Lawrence) puts her life into doing what no other can. The result - a brave and cruel story that has a lot of guts.
There are moments so tense that I nearly buckled from expecting the worst. The worst in the film seems to be common place to everything and everyone else in the story. A town where criminals own the land and criminals run the town. Ree makes a decision to do what she can for her family and takes on a battle that not many would consider. Her intentions are so pure that her struggle and spirit cannot be matched. The whole experience must leave its marks on her, as the gestures towards her are of some intent, and the reality is gruesome.
I can imagine there are scenes that would graphically be a lot worse if the wrong director had handled this film. I think the film is bold enough as it is, and the ideas are portrayed with all the emotion coming across perfectly. Leaving me as a viewer completely hooked and stunned at the thought and the reality.
If any person had Ree fighting for them, they would need nothing more. I could easily put this up there with the best films I have ever seen.
