A little bit of big fun.,
This review is from: Rock En Espanol Vol. 1 (Audio CD)
Nashville based surf/garage/trashy/twang rockers Los Straitjackets present a cd of cover versions of "classics" that are given the surf/rockabilly treatment. Some decent ballads are here too, with Big Sandy belting his lungs out.
I forgot I had this cd (and one or 2 others of theirs), manic and frantic. But lets face it, anything with Cesar Rosas and Little Willie G, a huge, huge legend in East L.A., (just ask Ry Cooder) is worth a good couple of spins or more.
Surf rock with an East L.A. Hispanic twist! Great sounds for beating your carpet to.
Tracks include:"All Day And All Of The Night" by The Kinks,
"Poison Ivy" by The Coasters, "Wild Thing" by The Troggs, "Whittier Boulevard" by Thee Midniters, and "Hang On Sloopy" by The McCoys.
(By the way, any recent negative votes are by courtesy of an idiot that changes his profile as and when it suits him. He now uses the name "Alex De Large.")
