Still a good romp, but gets less plausible by the day,

Castle may have jumped the shark. With the 'will-they-won't-they' out of the way, the writers have now to resort to slapstick 'let's-try-to-keep-it-a-secret' and 'let's-throw-up-barriers-like-Castle's-fear-of-commitment' and 'opportunities-for-Beckett-to-advance-her-career-that-might-mean-they-can't-be-together'.
As a result, it's Esposito and Ryan that are the main reason the show remains watchable.

A long term FM fan says:
I've always watched the show IN SPITE of Nathan Fillion / Richard Castle and not because of him. (I bracket NF & RC together because NF is basically just being himself when "acting" in the role of RC). I find him incredibly irritating most of the time and don't understand why anyone would find his childish, egotistical antics funny or charming. For me, Beckett is by far the more interesting character, and her character development plus her interactions with Ryan & Esposito make the show. And I completely agree: the first 3 seasons were much better than the later ones, which have far too many storylines that are completely stupid.
