As close as you can get to perfection,
This review is from: Demon's Souls (PS3) (Video Game)
Some games are fun and some games are unforgettable. This one is both. For many years I was convinced that Ocarina of Time was THE best game I have ever played - okay it still is but this one comes very close indeed! If you want something with a lot of replay value and as challenging as the likes of Ninja Gaiden (without the cheap bosses), you can not go wrong here. Some people have commented that the graphics are bland. I do not agree with this statement at all. It looks awesome. Especially in the magic tower. Perhaps they never made it that far. :)
There is no music with this game (except the intro and in the nexus) which I thought was a bit weird but the environmental sounds seem to have a rhythm of its own and it works extremely well.
Yes, you will probably die a lot in the beginning and after losing some souls you will be so scared to die again that you will start slowing your play down. This makes it much more realistic than most games I have played. Once you start taking it slow, you stop dying and the game really starts to shine.
It takes about 40-60 hours for your first play-through. If you complete the world tendency events as well, it will take twice as long.
The on-line mode is a very nice feature as well. I can dedicate an entire review to this alone but you need to see it for yourself.
So, if you are still struggling as to whether or not you should buy it - just get it. You will not be disappointed!
