What A Waste,
This review is from: This Charming Man (Paperback)
I have enjoyed previous books written by Marian Keyes but this one was awful! The lack of pronouns and so many other correct sentence formations made the read unpleasant and disjointed. On many occasions I found myself having to re-read a sentence due to her lack of, in particular, a pertinent pronoun. This style of writing has become more evident in the mass appeal women's magazines where writing style is of little to no importance. I fail to understand the good reviews she has received because, in my opinion, this book fails utterly. It is the work of a person whose literary skills are, at best, poor. I just hope that if she produces another work that she will return to her previous and more enjoyable literary style.

Shirley Mosey says:
I totally agree with you. I wish I'd read your review before I bought the book. The first part called Lola I found particularly difficult to follow and because of that I couldn't be bothered to read any further. I have read another Marion Keyes which was much better. This Charming Man promised alot but disappointed.
