One of the highest quality Christian DVDs to date,
This review is from: God Of Wonders [DVD] New Multi-language version (DVD)When you see five-star ratings you never know for sure if a product is worthy of it, or if it's just a case of an enthusiastic devotee. It's true that I am a Christian and am unashamedly passionate about God and about His awesome creation. But I have seen quite a number of Christian DVDs, of varying quality, and can honestly say that this is one of the best. Its quality is in the script, the choice of interviewees, the filming, the production, the music, and the overall message.
Many voices today are robbing God of His rightful glory, falsely attributing the astounding complexity and wonder of life to the mindless, random processes of evolution. This DVD is thoroughly refreshing, as it stands firmly against this tide of humanism and atheism.
Furthermore, in combining truly fascinating and educational information with praise of God, "God of Wonders" rightly dispels the myth of the supposed dichotomy between science and 'religion'. The Bible doesn't recognise such a dichotomy--in fact you won't find the word 'religion' in any of the main English translations of the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). The Bible gives a complete and integral worldview, touching upon science, history, wisdom, etc, as well as all things relating to the spiritual dimension.
'God of Wonders' reflects that sense of wholeness, by interweaving amazing facts, stunning beauty, and constant reference to the Bible. "God of Wonders" is, for the Christian at least, an educational and thrilling viewing experience!
And for any genuinely open-minded enquirer, it provides compelling answers to some of mankind's deepest questions: about our origins; about the astonishing complexity, order, and beauty in life; about suffering and why creation is spoiled; about conscience and the knowledge of right and wrong; and about God's compassionate, sacrificial, and loving offer of redemption to mankind.

Yet according to the bible Earth was made approx 6,000 years ago! so how come scientists , geologists etc.. have aged rocks with some as old as 3,500 million years old?? truly bewildering that , not sure how God achieved that one !!!
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it ( or because it has) been handed down for many generations ( or) because it is found in your religious books/DVDs ( or ) merely on the authority of your teachers or elders, but after observation and analysis. Doubt everything. find your own light.

I would be extremely interested to learn where 'the bible' makes such a claim!
The only overt chronological structures are the genealogies, and yet we know these are not complete, and therefore cannot be used for dating purposes.
Please comment on the review, rather than just regurgitate a bit of atheist dogma!

This is a good review; you've almost convinced me to buy the DVD but I am trying to cut down my spending on here. I'm a Christian too, and an open-minded one; by your review, you are open-minded too. As you say, how can anyone really believe in dumb chance, a dumb chance that somehow, nobody ever really explains fully why, could create all life, and complex life like human beings. It truly takes more faith to believe that life somehow merely happened, than to believe that there is intelligent design behind life, the universe and everything.
Being a student of the Bible, the truth of life's beginning are often embedded in folk tales; the beginnings of life are shrouded in mystery, but perhaps we don't necessarily need to know all the facts of how life and everything began, it might blow our minds and is probably very very complicated! Suffice to say, we believe in a loving God who did just that, create everything from scratch. But, not to contradict myself, the answers are in the Bible, but like any good historian or archaeologist, we need to dig a little to find them. Is the world about ten thousand years old? I highly doubt it; and just how old is the human race? six thousand years old? Again, I doubt it but who can really say. Arguments go forth between creationists and evolutionists, one arguing one thing and the other arguing something else, arguing the toss to no avail! Nobody really knows, except God! We are not asked to argue about the origins of mankind, we are meant to preach, and totally live, the Gospel. If anyone asks me 'what is the proof of creation' I will simply tell them one thing: 'look in the mirror'! The human being is so complex, so original, so amazing, from the tips of our toes to the top of our head, and every little thing that keeps us nicely ticking over. Our hands, our heart, our brain, are amazing works. And, of course, apart from this, humanity is elevated above the rest of creation for one great reason: we are spiritual beings, with a spiritual dimension, and created specifically for an intimate spiritual relationship with God.
I hasten to add, I myself have never been religious at all, I sometimes think that religion and Christianity are not necessarily the same things at all. Saul was religious; Paul was simply a Christian. There is a difference.
