Kitchen equipment porn to appeal to your inner minimalist or design geek,
This review is from: Essential Equipment for the Kitchen: A Sourcebook of the World's Best Designs (Paperback)
To guide us in our selection of kitchen equipment, Charlotte and Peter Fiell have written Essential Equipment for the Kitchen, a book full of nothing but the most tasteful in modern kitchen equipment. We were surprised at just how many items we either own, or, know from friends' kitchens. There is a heavy skew to the Scandinavian design ethos, with clean lines and minimal decoration, but it's nice to see some of our favourites: OXO Good Grips, Pyrex, Global knives, Kenwood kMix, AllClad and Cornish blue kitchenware. In total 300 items are featured, with stockist details, should you be tempted to treat yourself or someone else.
As a lookbook for ideas, it's a worthy addition to the shelf. My only concern would be that it's easy to be seduced by the idea of a kitchen of nothing but impeccable modern taste, which might end up might feeling a bit soulless. The other thing I'm going to do is use it when watching the next series of Borgen to see where all the coffee pots come from.
