A nutritionist's view - this is an outstanding book,

When I first enrolled at the Institute For Optimum Nutrition (ION) Dr Briffa was recommended by a couple of lecturers as THE authority on healthy weight loss. Quite an accolade coming from some of the UK's leading nutritionists. And three years later, I can see why. A medical doctor who applies his academic rigour to nutrition and provides a workable fat-loss plan.
This book draws on extensive trials and studies to give a genuine insight into how the body works and the mechanisms involved in weight gain. Once you understand these mechanisms, it becomes much easier to unlock why most diets (especially low fat diets) don't work, and the changes required for weight loss - or should I say fat loss. The author's plan (diet) is extremely well thought through, and explained in plain English. The diet is also sustainable in the long-term. Highly recommended!
Most diet books are based on bad science, don't work, and lead to 'yo-yo' changes in weight - with the damage to long-term health that brings. You'll understand why, when you read this book. Happy reading!!
