Dreadful, Dreadful, Dreadful,
This review is from: Area 7 (Paperback)
I read this book when it came out. The plot is so dumb I find it difficult to understand how or why the publishers accepted it.
A insane US General kidnaps the US President and holds him prisoner inside a US base simultaneoulsy holding the US hostage as he has managed to conceal powerful non-nuclear weapons across the USA.
I read about 70 pages of this stinker before deciding to give it up as a bad job, I skimmed the remainder of the novel just to confirm it could not be as bad as all that. But it was.
The plot is just terrible, the writing worse. The entire thing reads like a penny dreadful without the virtue of only costing a penny.
The only pleasure this book gave me was when I donated it to the local charity shop thereby freeing up space on my bookshelves so I could actually replace it with something halfway descent.
