This review is from: Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book and was hooked very early on. The underlying theme behind the book is very akin to the popular TV series Desperate Housewives, where a group of diverse women come together and find strength in their friendship. Unlike Desperate Housewives, these women come together to form a book group, and although they take the book-review process quite seriously it is clear that the "club" is mainly a way to ensure they all get together at regular intervals to share in eachother's lives and eat great home-made desserts! As a group they go through most life experiences, including serious illness, bereavement, domestic abuse, as well as lots of joy and happiness along the way. The author allows us to really feel like we know these characters extremely well, as their individual life stories gradually unfold.
