Well-told tale of our times,
This review is from: Just Watch Me (Paperback)
As an admirer of Peter Grimsdale's work in TV, I was intrigued to discover he'd written novels. And being "set in Worthing" (I know Worthing and it's not usually where thrillers are set) was an additional draw. Too good to be true: more of the action takes place in Afghanistan than Worthing, but never mind, this is a gripping read. Lots of superhuman macho stuff but none the worse for that. This is a well-told tale, uncomplicated by tricksy characterisation or moral ambiguities - well, perhaps a bit, but nothing to detract too much from the 'me-versus-the-world' plot. Enjoyable.
