Steamy English drama set in a hot climate inspired by real events. Great Sarah Miles performance!,

This review is from: White Mischief [DVD] (1987) (DVD)
This DVD has subtitles in English and has good quality sound and vision.
I saw this film on TV ages ago and although I knew the story I am glad that I bought this DVD as the performance of Sarah Miles alone is worth it! Lovely costumes and period detail including the natives. Stunning scenery. The ambience of the time translates well to the screen and the acting is good from an ensemble cast which includes Charles Dance and John Hurt although the said Ms Miles blows the socks off them all.
The documentary which is included is interesting as it discusses the true-life incident that inspired the book and the film and we get to know about the origins of the Alphabet Song!
