This review is from: The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry (Hardcover)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)"When Harold Fry nips out one morning to post a letter, leaving his wife hoovering upstairs, he has no idea that he is about to walk from one end of the country to the other.
He has no hiking boots or map, let alone a compass, waterproof or mobile phone.
All he knows is that he must keep walking.
To save someone else's life."
Harold receives a letter from an old friend, Queenie, letting him know she's terminally ill. He tries to write to her and goes out to post the letter - but just keeps on walking. This is the story of that walk and within it, the story of Harold's strained relationship with his wife and drug-using son.
The book is very well written but a little tedious in places. For some it will be the perfect novel - just not for me.
