I'm afraid I'm not a fan of John's writing style!,

This review is from: Excel 2007 Formulas (Mr. Spreadsheet's Bookshelf) (Paperback)
The content is pretty basic in my opinion, once you've spent a few years in the Excel trenches anyway. The one overwhelming problem I have with the Mr. Spreadsheet books is the amount of padding/waffle that he comes out with. Rather than bullet pointing what is relevant in an explanation of a formula, he takes an inordinate amount of time to get to the point - personally, I don't think this book should be more than about 240 pages. Also, the glossary is pretty useless as it merely describes what a function does, rather than give an example of how the function could be used e.g. how & why as opposed to what!
