5.0 out of 5 stars A deserving Champion, 22 July 2013
This review is from: Wimbledon: Official 2013 Gentlemen's Final - Novak Djokovic vs Andy Murray - Double DVD: The Complete Final [DVD] (DVD)
My first and probably last review on Amazon, but as a Tennis player of 40 years experience I thought I must comment on our Greek friends one star review and slating of Andy Murray.

Firstly, you can only beat what's in front of you, so not having to play Federer and Nadal is neither here or there. I'm a great Federer fan, but he's at the tail end of his career and I think Murray would have had the measure on him (Murray's leads Federer 11-9 in career head to heads anyway). You can't fluke getting to number 2 in the world rankings and reaching 7 (that's 7) Grand Slam finals (winning 2). He's done it through incredible hard work and determination, not to mention sheer natural ability. In the final game he also displayed tremendous guts by not letting the game go having lost three match points at 40-0 (can you imagine the pressure he must have felt then - a lesser player may have crumbled).

So this is not really a review of the DVD, just Andy Murray's performance - as deserving a champion as any previous winner.

I Never said it was murray's fault he did not faced nadal and federer or tsonga but this "luck" helped him so he took it. good for him.
So u say he leads 11-9 federer but u don't say how he is doing against him in slams (where counts).
I think until australia 2013 murray won ZERO matches against federer at slams. true ?
That he won only 2 out of 7 finals what it tells you ? it tells me he is not a deserving champion to say the least.
That he is never been to NO 1 in rankings tells u he is a deserved champion ?
Then what u make of rafter who spend 1 week at NO 1 in his whole career ? A tennis legend ?
All things u say just indicates murray to be the best of the rest and that's it.
Comparing him with the little four (berdych, portro, ferrer and tsonga) he is the best player.
comparing him with the big three (federer, nadal, NOLE) he is a loser....(Apart from last 10 months or so)
Can murray continue to win like he did in last 10 months ?
only time will tell and i he does only then he will be a deserving champion.

Thanks for the review, but I think it was a mistake to engage the troll any further. Hopefully nobody else will comment on his crap. Hopefully Amazon will simply delete his posts, since they have nothing to do with reviewing the DVD.

D. Milne u are such a sad person calling someone u don't know A TROLL only because he doesn't like your favorite player.
I think i stated facts and numbers to support my theory that murray is a loser so if u can object to that please do but by bringing facts and not by telling me that i am troll cause u can't prove i'm wrong. that's so pathetic and further more that u ask amazon to delete my posts only because it hurts you to see what your fav player really is using facts and numbers but don't worry i can understand that. TRUTH HURTS.

As has already been said, the site should really be used to express opinions on the product, rather than the person. On that I think everybody should just agree to disagree to avoid a slanging match and things getting too personal. There will be no further comment from me.

Have you checked the Rankings of the Little Four?
Ferrer = 3rd
Berdych = 6th
Del Potro = 7th
Tsonga =8th

Thought not!!

Beloved Federer down at 5th Whoops, think you missed that

In reply to an earlier post on 29 Jul 2013 13:41:53 BDT
Mr. Lennard, i check the rankings at a weekly basis so i know them very well.
I know ferrer is now NO 3 but that doesn't mean he is a member of the big four when for years and years he was between NO 5 and NO 8.
You should know by BIG 4 we mean those active players which most of the time are in first 4 places and also winning most important titles.
Now....i don't think ferrer is one of those and also i don't think that federer is now part of the little four just because he fell AFTER 11 YEARS out of the top 4 for the first time in his career.
Enough said

I am in complete agreement with your comments Sir, (Tobermory).
You come across to me as a very knowledgeable and sensible person.
