He aint heavy,

This review is from: Racing Car (Toy)I bought this at Christmas for my son (20mths)and he loves riding it
It is a very robust toy and does hark back to yesteryear in terms of design but personally I would be willing to sacrifice the metal and keep a similar classic design in plastic with a few design changes.
The problems with the design are twofold
1) There is nowhere to put feet up when going down hill or when being pushed (ie no footrests
2) Its quite heavy for my son to push around - its ok on the flat but there is no way he could ever make it up a hill without going backwards at the moment (even at 22 months). This gives it a very short time frame I think as there is a small margin between being strong enough to ride it and being small enough to ride it (he already is catching his legs on the back wheels when pushing along)
In summary, its nicer to look at than it is for kids to ride. It isn't as practical as a plastic toy half its price (from a weight perspective at least. Given my parents still have my plastic tractor from the 70s I would argue that long term its not as robust either!!
