Great when it works but often has no GPS signal!,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: TomTom Via 135 EU M Sat Nav with Lifetime Map Updates (Electronics)
We bought this for a self-drive holiday in Germany which included some parts in the mountains, in case the in-car sat nav wasn't up to scratch. Well, when this satnav worked it was quick to recalculate etc. and took us through good routes although the time lag between pressing buttons and the incessant need to go back was a little annoying.
The worst problem is losing GPS signal. Not only did we lose signal when we needed it most - in the mountains - but also in hotel rooms so we couldn't program routes in advance. In fact, the in-car satnav turned out to be much more useful but then we had a nice car so would have been pretty buggered if not. It would also be useful to have a 'scenic route' functionality, since we wanted to take the B500 romantic road, or alpine road in some parts but found it hard for the satnav to recognise this. (Is the walking route/bike route a scenic route?)
