This review is from: Rosie's War: An Englishwoman's Escape From Occupied France (Hardcover)
I was amazed by this young woman's naivety but coming from this age of information overload I don't think we would behave as she did travelling to Paris as the war had started and France fallen. I was very interested in life in Vichy France and how she was able to move around, send mail back and forth to Britain. The book is not particularly well written, it lacks emotion, which is a shame as the story deserves more. I read it on my Kindle so the documents were not as clear a in a book, but nevertheless added to the enjoyment. I appreciated the up dates at the end of the book as often one is left wondering about the minor characters.
