A book to read in one sitting,
By A Customer
This review is from: A Child Called 'It ' (Hardcover)
I started this book as my train pulled out of London Waterloo Station on my journey home, and I finished it as we pulled into Fareham one and a half hours later. This book book screams out to be read in one sitting and is impossible to put down. It's a graphic and heart wrenching account of a childs struggle to survive a vicious, cruel and sadistic mother and a pathtic, weak willed father who is as guilty of the mothers crimes as the mother herself.
This is not what one could call an enjoyable read. But it is necessary in so much that if it helps one abused person overcome their struggle to survive, or spurs one bystander into action when they suspect the abuse of a child, then surely the writing and reading of this book becomes all the more worthwhile.
