This review is from: Foul Deeds in Richmond and Kingston (Paperback)
Having done some research myself at the London Metropolitan Archives and seen how long it can take to extract the relevant information, I am amazed at Jonathan's sheer volume of research that he has undertaken.
Not only is it well researched but vastly entertaining and absorbing as well. A real pager turner.
I was fascinated by the gruesomeness of the crimes and transfixed like a rabbit frozen in ther headlights of a car.
It is compelling reading and also set in an interesting area. Richmond and Kingston are areas well known to a lot of people. I think it is the middle-class suburban setting that I found most enthralling.
To think that such strange deeds go on in such places is amazing and slightly frightening. The very ordinaryness of these places is suddenly challenged and we look at these areas with a more revealing insight.
