A wonderul read,
This review is from: Madrid and Central Spain (Companion Guides) (Paperback)
I wanted to get a book that would give me a more detailed guide on a holiday to Madrid. After a little bit of searching I came accross the Companion Guide series and found out about the Madrid the Central Spain print.
It is not a Rough Guide or anything remotely like it and I found it made a good companion to my rough guide.
The detail is just superb. I used it as my guide book for my visit to the Reina Sofia, El Prado and Thyssen and it gave me all the detail I wanted. I was amazed it was able to walk my through the permanent collections.
Is description and details about "Valle de los Caidos" Francos Grave was very good.
I could go on about the detail where it does not match other Guides is in the resturant, going out, hotels, etc.

C. Howse says:
It's outside Madrid that the guide comes into its own. It is discerning and infromative about the ancient towns of Castile.
