An honest and heart warming insight,
This review is from: Provided You Don't Kiss Me: 20 Years with Brian Clough (Paperback)
An honest and heart warming insight into the working life of the best Manager that England never had.
Local journalist Duncan Hamilton was allowed virtual unlimited access to Brian Clough during his management years. His account of this is a worthy tribute to BC. It's both enlightening and humerous at times, as Duncan relates instances of BC's unorthodox and at times eccentric management skills.
There is no doubt DB would have been a successful England manager, but being a loose cannon when in front of a camera, meant it would have been too much of a risk on the international diplomatic front. Love him or hate him he was undeniably one hell of a character.
I was attracted to this book whilst reading Russell Brands 'Articles of Faith', where he highly recommends it to any football fan, as one of the best football books ever written.
I am a football fan, and it is !
