Just not working for me.,
This review is from: Gullstruck Island (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)Unfortunately this book just didn't work for me, which is a shame considering the positive reviews. I enjoy reading YA books, especially fantasy, and I hoped for great things. However, it took me a while to work out how the world worked, and what the storyline was supposed to be. I also struggled with the characters, finding them hard to relate to and understand.
After many attempts, I finally gave up. I'm probably in the minority though, so maybe I missed something.

I was in the same boat. I found this title unreadable and gave up. The way it was written reminded me of Gormenghast (Peak) or Shardik (Adams) - titles which I also struggled with. I really didn't like it; it was a bit wierd.
