This review is from: Moods of Future Joys: Around the World by Bike - Part 1 (Paperback)
The real crux of this book is that Alastair was such a novice when he left the UK on his epic ride, and the book honestly documents his journey from a 'wide eyed' and inexperienced point of view. As a result, he has produced, in this page-turner, a story to which all of us who have ever slung a leg over bike frame can relate.
He honestly describes many low points along the way with consummate humility, and deftly weaves these into the overall story, which keeps enthusiastically bouncing along like his beloved steed.
Overall, a highly recommended read for armchair adventurers, but also for anyone who needs inspiration for their own challenge in life, whatever that might be. You'll also want to read the next installment...
