A Great Story Well Told,
This review is from: Birmingham Girls (Paperback)
Carol Arnall has captured the spirit of Birmingham in this story of herself and her sister growing up in the city just after the war. It's well written in easy, flowing language that encourages the reader to turn page after page in order to learn more. Many mature readers will identify with Carol and the situations she describes, especially those from Birmingham. The author's narrative regarding work opportunities reflects the diversity of jobs that were available in the city of a thousand trades during the sixties, and provides a unique insight into the lives of its citizens in an era that has gone forever. A great little book.
