This review is from: The Dress Thief (Kindle Edition)
I was pulled into this book by the cover, then I read the synopsis, and then the reviews, and was swayed to buy it, and I was glad I did (stayed up til 2am to finish it). As recently I have read some sub standard books, I needed something to pique my interest again.
I tend not to warm to the heroine in books, as they are always stubborn to the point of stupid, and they dont read well on the page. But Alik was someone who was troubled, but she kept going, she wasnt overly stubborn, and there was something charming about her that I could see the world through her eyes, and didnt want to slap her for being silly. She just wanted the best life she could find, but made mistakes on her journey, (havent we all).
The author draws you into the world of Parisian couture, and how fashion houses work and run. And I could imagine, to the best of my ability the dresses that were being described, and the settings they were in. I tend to skim read over too much description, but the author manges to keep a balance between description and story.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book, and cannot wait for any new books from Natalie Meg Evans
