The Welfare of Children,
By A Customer
This review is from: Dunblane Unburied (Paperback)I bought this book because the name "Dunblane" jumps out at you. It was a western tragedy that had no parallel. Here in the US, the school massacre at Columbine seemed to bear strong similarities - yet I now see how very different these two tragic incidents were.
This was a hard book for me to read as I clearly do not understand the workings of the British Government or Scottish Parliament, but it would seem that they are very involved in concealing the truth about this terrible event. I would like to read more about the author's thoughts that Columbine was a 'copycat' of Dunblane. Michael Moore produced a documentary about that, but it didn't really scratch the surface. Ms Uttley has done more than scratch the surface of what really happened at Dunblane. I would like to think she is wrong about certain matters - the existence of a very active paedophile network in Scotland - but she provides so much evidence, I find it hard not to believe her. And when you look at the scale of child abuse by members of the Catholic Church in Boston USA, you realise that anything, sadly, is possible. If you care about the welfare of children, you must read this book.
