Losing his Mojo?,

I have been a Tom Petty fan for so long now, it's hard to remember a time when I wasn't listening to him or the Heartbreakers.
After 8 years of waiting for a new Heartbreakers album, I must admit I was like an excited boy in short pants! However, this is a departure from their usual Southern Rock style, and I'm not sure I like this direction.
Don't get me wrong, Tom's vocals and Lyrics are still top notch, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and the guys are still showing everyone how to play. But the Blues style is not for me. I've never said this about a Tom Petty album before, but there are a few songs on here that I don't even like! 'Candy' probably being the worst.
It's not all bad though, 'First flash of Freedom', 'Running Man's Bible', 'I should have known it' and 'Good Enough' are actually pretty good, and 'The Trip to Pirate's Cove' is a classic Petty story of taking a trip, Partying with some Motel Maids, and then getting the hell out of town!
The last album Tom put out was with his first band 'Mudcrutch', which was a bit hit and miss and had a similar Blues sound to Mojo, this sound should have stayed with Mudcrutch and not tagged itself to the Heartbreakers.
It seems that I am among the few that doesn't love this album, but I guess even Tom can't please everyone! and I still love him like you love Jesus, and I will be at the front of queue if he ever gives us that UK tour we so deserve!
