This review is from: LEGO Games 3858: Heroica Waldurk Forest (Toy)
This set is the fourth heroica set I've purchased for my son, because he enjoys the simple fun gameplay. This set on its own is meant for 2-3 players although a fourth may control the baddies.
This game can be played on its own or for more fun linked up with the other sets.
In the standard layout it measures 24cm wide by 22cm long, and comes with a rulebook, map ,instructions and about 230 pieces of lego.
This is made up of 8 rooms and 8 corridors to connect them, you get 2 layouts supplied with the map but can easily make up your own using some imagination.
The rules are basically the same as the draida set with just a couple of additions like a new potion and magic item to find. Also they have moveable magic doors which if playing the game competitively can be fun as they can block your opponents path ahead.
It is still basically roll a dice(die) to move and another dice to attack the monster or open the treasure chests. The rules are so simple my 4 year old plays them, although if for an under 7 I would advise someone older to help with understanding the rules.
With this set you get three different baddies to fight there are some spiders, some werewolves and a dark druid who is the main baddy for the forest set.
This is a great buy as it combines the lego element in that you build your own gameboard and a great little game. Each game lasts 10-20 mins and my son usually plays at least 2-3 times in a row.
