When this book arrived I thought just a makeover of the first Christmas book but very much not.The new additions to this book are just simply superb,page 164 the Tomato Tart with Swiss Cheese and Rosemary which I made using Delia's quick flaky pastry is a recipe to die for,I did this for a vegetarian friend when we had a dinner party and she raved about it,it's been added to her own recipe collection,and the Luxuriant Vegetable Pie on page 169 is a must for anyone, I have to say though that my favourite new recipe in this book has got to be the Luxury Seafood Pie with Parmesan Crust page 155,because I have retired to the island of Rhodes I find some of the ingredients hard to obtain but you can substitute very easily.Today has been my make Delia's mincmeat day maybe the best mincmeat recipe ever it never fails and all our ex-pats have a jar.I do have to substitute ingredients fairly often but the recies still always turn out.This is a book you must have in your collection, like all Delias books it offers great ideas and great alternatives even for someone who who doesn't cook brilliantly the recipes are easy to follow.Ask for this as a Christmas gift you won't be disappointed yes Delia seems to have been around a long time but her books are timeless and well worth the investment I have 100's of other cook books my husband says far too many but I always come back to Delia.

My son moved to Vancouver from Calgary, and turned vegetarian (ah, the West Coast lifestyle), so I am always looking for tasty vegetarian recipes. Am ordering this book based on this review. Thanks.
