A band that doesn't mature with age,
This review is from: St. Anger [CD + DVD] (Audio CD)
I'm not going to go into too much detail here but from the offset this album sounds like it was recorded in someone's bedroom with a microphone stuck between them all. To be fair, I had high hopes for this album after being told it was a return to their older, heavier material like "...And justice for all", but no, its not. It sounds like a cross between Corrosion of Conformity and The White stripes - the white stripes for the poor sound quality and distinct lack of bass - oh, and annoying songs.
The DVD that comes with it might be worth a watch, to see how such accomplished and experienced musicians can massacre an entire album.
